Community Work

An active voice in the Dandenong Community for the past 30 years!

Geraldine is a grassroots community organiser, a former councillor of the City of Dandenong, and a voice for inclusive people-centred politics.

Geraldine has been immersed in migrant communities and the Catholic community across Victoria for thirty years. Born in India of Portuguese descendents, she embodies Victoria’s rich cultural heritage and the traditional Australian ethos of a ‘fair go’ for everyone.

She has been a voice for outer suburban communities for three decades in fighting for their share of resources and respect. She has been a fearless advocate for her own communities of Doveton and Lyndhurst, chairing many environmental and community campaigns, developing school communities and building migrant and faith networks.

Geraldine is the founding chair of Australian Indian Innovations (AIII)
